The men’s baseball team split their four-game series against Navy this past weekend. While the team lost its first encounter, the Tigers bounced back to snatch the next two games, operating behind stellar pitching from junior Ben Gross and freshman James Proctor. However, the Tigers were unable to clinch the series as Navy edged out the Tigers in a tight closing match.

The men’s volleyball team wrapped up the regular season by splitting their games against Grand Canyon University this past Thursday and Friday. The Tigers (10-10) held off a surge from the Antelopes in their first meet-up to grab a narrow 3-2 win over Grand Canyon (15-9). However, the Antelopes would rebound in their second match to earn a 3-1 victory.

The men’s volleyball team split the weekend this Friday and Saturday. The Tigers (6-3 EIVA, 9-8 overall) lost a hard-fought match against conference rivals NJIT (4-3, 9-7) on Friday, but quickly responded the following day to sweep Coker College, 3-0.

The men’s volleyball team claimed the top spot in the EIVA with two wins this Friday, Mar. 3, and Saturday, Mar. 4, in their doubleheader against Charleston. The Tigers (6-2 EIVA, 7-7 overall) swept the Charleston Cougars (0-7, 7-10) in their first meeting and followed that impressive performance by edging out the Cougars again in a hotly contested fifth set the following day. The win puts the Tigers level with nationally ranked Penn State in the EIVA.

The 2016-17 Princeton men’s basketball team has joined an elite group with their perfect 14-0 Ivy League record. After an 85-48 blowout win against Dartmouth (7-20 overall, 4-10 Ivy), the Tigers have completed their sweep of the Ivy League and extended their winning streak to 17 games.

The men’s volleyball team split the weekend, winning their game against Harvard but falling to Sacred Heart. The Tigers, now 4-2 in the EIVA, are tied for second with Sacred Heart, while Penn State currently sits at the top of the table with a 6-2 record.

The Tigers (5-6, 3-1), fresh off a victory over conference rivals NJIT (6-6, 2-2), grabbed their third conference win of the season, putting them tied with Sacred Heart (10-2, 3-1) at the top of the EIVA table.

After a disappointing season last year, the men’s volleyball team was looking for answers. The Princeton squad struggled at home, limping to a 1-8 home record and a 4-10 Eastern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association (EIVA) conference record. Despite a respectable roster and many notable performances from All-EIVA team captain Devin Stearns ‘16, the team managed just four wins amid stiff competition.

The men’s volleyball team opened EIVA conference play with a pair of strong performances. On Feb. 10, the Tigers upset last year EIVA-finalist Saint Francis University in a thrilling five-set match. The team then returned to Dillon Gym the following day, and almost pulled off a even bigger stunner by forcing No. 14-ranked Penn State to five sets. While the Nittany Lions eventually rallied, the weekend showed that the Princeton squad would be a strong contender in the playoff race.

This weekend the men’s basketball team continued its dominant Ivy League performance by beating Yale, 66-58. The win over the defending champion Bulldogs gives the Tigers a perfect 3-0 start in the Ivy League Conference. Earlier this month, the Princeton squad also defeated rivals Penn and Brown. The Tigers, on a six-game winning streak, will now head into a final exam break. They will return Feb. 3 to face Dartmouth.

Ford Family Director of Athletics Mollie Marcoux Samaan has informed the men’s swimming and diving team that it will not compete in its two remaining regular season meets, or the end-of-season Ivy League Championships. The Tigers had been slated to face Navy on Jan. 7 and then both Harvard and Yale during a dual meet on Feb. 5.

The Princeton Women’s Ice Hockey team swept Mercyhurst in their annual two-game series this past weekend. The Tigers beat the Lakers 4-2 and 5-2 to improve their overall record to 9-6-1.

The women’s volleyball team entered the court having accomplished everything it wanted this season. The Tigers had swept through the Ivy League with a 13-1 record, claiming their 17th Ivy League championship, and along with it, a spot in the NCAA tournament.

The Princeton women’s hockey team had a rough Thanksgiving weekend, dropping back-to-back games against Boston University. The Tigers suffered a rough 4-1 defeat to the Terriers on Friday before giving up a much closer 3-4 loss in overtime to them on Saturday.

The men’s and women’s swimming team opened the Ivy League season with a tri-meet this Friday and Saturday against old rivals Cornell and Penn. The men’s squad split the Ivy League opener, beating Cornell 191-109, but losing to Penn 108-192. The women’s squad swept both their opponents with an impressive showing and now hold a 2-0 record in the Ivy League.

After a remarkable comeback against Cornell in the fifth set, the women’s volleyball team has earned the outright Ivy League title and a bid to the NCAA tournament. This title marks Princeton’s 17th Ivy League championship and their first back-to-back victory since 1999-2000.

The results this weekend keep the Tigers (11-1 Ivy League) at the top of the Ivy League Conference, but the race tightens as Yale inches to within one game of the Orange and Black.
