Finally, a victory: Tigers win at VMI

LEXINGTON, Va. ? For the first time in 41 games, the sprint football team came out on top.Never mind that their opponent, the Virginia Military Institute, is a newcomer to the sport this year.Never mind that this was only the third game ever for the Keydets.Never mind that sprint football is only a club sport for VMI.Never mind that since the Keydets aren't in the Collegiate Sprint Football League, neither team had to weigh in for the game.Never mind those caveats.

Quakers jump on sprint football early, ease to 38-12 victory

Though the sprint football team could not extend its winning streak to two games on Friday night in a 38-12 loss to Penn, the Tigers did show sparks of newfound confidence and successful execution in their season finale at home.Princeton (1-6 overall, 0-4 Collegiate Sprint Football League) outscored the Quakers (3-3, 1-3), 12-7, in the second half, but the Tigers could not overcome Penn's 23 first quarter points.

It's the time of year for trick-or-treating, but on Saturday at Princeton Stadium, the football team wasn't tricked.The Tigers (5-2 overall, 3-1 Ivy League) overcame Cornell's devious special teams to earn a critical Ivy League win off the right foot of senior kicker Derek Javarone.
