Students fined $640 for painting rooms

When Sierra Schelegle ’11 checked her student bill this fall, she was surprised to find a $640 charge for “painted walls.” She was confused, since no such charge had been included in her fire inspection notice.Schelegle is one of several undergraduates who expressed confusion about the University's rules against students painting their dorm rooms, though administrators insist there has been no change in policy.

UHS administers 860 of 2,000 H1N1 vaccines

University Health Services saw a lower than expected student turnout at the Nov. 16 H1N1 vaccine clinic, administering only 860 vaccines of the available 2,000. “We are concerned that eligible students are not taking advantage of the opportunity to be vaccinated for H1N1 flu,” UHS Executive Director John Kolligian said.

Amazon CEO Bezos '86 to speak at Baccalaureate

Jeff Bezos ’86, founder and CEO of the online retail giant Amazon.com, will deliver the Baccalaureate address on May 30, Class of 2010 president Aditya Panda announced Tuesday in an e-mail to all seniors. Bezos, a former Quadrangle Club member, graduated summa cum laude from the University as a concentrator in computer science and electrical engineering. After college, he worked in finance for several years before founding Amazon.com in 1994.

USG officials distributed an elections handbook at their meeting Sunday evening that is inconsistent with both the current USG constitution and the bylaws of the Council of the Princeton University Community. The inconsistencies relate to the election of class senators and U-Councilors.
