As the temperatures drop and finals season approaches, Coffee Club has dropped a new slate of seasonal drinks to keep students warm and power them through the end of the semester. Here’s the 2025 winter lineup, ranked from what I am least likely to most likely order again.
5. Mistletoe Matcha
Though I’m not a big matcha fan, I couldn’t imagine that matcha lovers would want this under the mistletoe. Offered in both hot and iced, I opted for the cold version. The drink was described as a flavor combination of pistachio and matcha. My main struggle was the lack of sweetener. The pistachio added nuttiness to the drink, but it failed to counter the bitterness of the matcha. The matcha was lacking in quality and, despite the addition of the pistachio, did not have a complex flavor profile. Instead, the drink was overwhelmed by bitterness. The drink was quite milky, and the pistachio only came to the forefront in the aftertaste.

4. Cozy Cabin Latte
Drinking this warm latte left me feeling cozy inside. While I enjoyed the Cozy Cabin Latte, it was missing the advertised notes of cinnamon and toffee. It was offered both hot and cold, and I chose the warm version. I tasted and felt the warmth of the cinnamon, but none of the toffee flavor came through. The sweetness of the drink was perfect for me — noticeable but subtle. The sugar balanced both the milkiness and the flavor of coffee. The Cozy Cabin Latte was sweet, but it was not an excessively sweet drink. The frothiness and milkiness of the latte were delectable and defining features of the drink. While a quality latte, it didn’t live up to its branding as a seasonal drink with a specific flavor palette.

3. Flapjack Flat White
While this drink was advertised as a pancake-inspired beverage with a robust espresso flavor and real maple, this drink “flat” out tasted like coffee. The strength of the coffee and the sweetness of the maple complemented each other. Although the sweetness provided a deeper profile to the drink, the maple flavor was lacking. This is the only drink on the seasonal menu where I could distinctly taste the coffee.

2. Very Merry Mocha
This drink lived up to its name and left me feeling very merry once I finished it. The chocolate component of the mocha was very noticeable, almost like hot chocolate with the slightest addition of coffee flavor. Advertised with a minty profile, there was a hint of peppermint in the aftertaste. The Very Merry Mocha overall had strong notes of chocolate. For lovers of coffee and chocolate, this drink has a pleasant mix of flavors. This is perfect if you are in the mood for something chocolatey but want a hint of caffeine and peppermint.

1. Fireside Hot Cocoa
I would love to sit by the fireside and sip another one of these drinks. This tasted exactly as it was advertised and had the strongest connection between the description and the true flavor. Notes of standout cayenne and cinnamon were particularly strong. The foam compensated for a lack of whipped cream, and the drink fulfilled a craving for chocolate with a richer flavor than mere sweetness. The chocolate was not too dark or too sweet. I would order it again because it is truly a seasonal flavor enhanced by the spiciness of the cayenne in the delicious hot chocolate.
