Richard William Kazmaier Jr. ’52, a Senior from Maumee, Ohio, yesterday was named as the winner of the Heisman Trophy by the biggest margin ever recorded in the history of the award.
“Casual Kaz,“ a quiet, unassuming guy, can be seen trundling off to class or delivering cleaning for the Student Tailor Shop almost any day around the Campus. No hired behemoth, Kaz is a good example of the athlete who actually goes to school, as well as playing ball.

His assets on the playing field, a quality of grace in motion, trickery and alert ball handling, best exemplify the smart football that marks Charlie Caldwell's Princeton teams. To Kaz, and his coach, our heartiest congratulations.
