Students dilute democracy by registering in Princeton

I can't help but respond to the editorial by Jason Biros '01 and Courtney Weiner '01 in the Oct. 4 issue of the 'Prince' calling on students to register to vote here in Princeton. It suggested that people should change where they vote so that they can have the biggest possible impact on the political process. But by doing that, Princeton students will dilute the voting power and possibly change the choice of the people who actually do live here in Princeton full-time. By coming into an area in which we are essentially guests, not permanent residents, and changing the outcome of a local election, we hurt democracy rather than help it. David Robinson '04
