The Tigers secured an automatic bid to the NCAA tournament with a win in the Ivy League championship three weekends ago.

The men's ultimate team won the New York/New Jersey regional tournament this weekend at West Windsor fields when it defeated Union College, Maryland, Swarthmore, and Salisbury State, 15-2, 15-6, 15-11 and 15-12, respectively. With the win the Tigers qualified for the national tournament, which will be held in Boise, Idaho May 27-28.

After sweeping the Ivy League championship series last weekend, the baseball team swept the Ivy League awards this week. Junior Andrew Hanson was named player of the week, sophomore Chris Young was named pitcher of the week and freshman David Boehle took home rookie of the week honors.

Hanson, who got the Tigers on the scoreboard against Dartmouth ace Conor Brooks with a two-run double, was also named to the 2000 GTE Academic All-America District II first team. Hanson has a 3.24 GPA in Psychology.

Young powered Princeton to a victory in game one of the championship series, holding Dartmouth's lineup to two runs on four hits. Young's ERA is now 1.05, and he now has enough innings to qualify for the national ERA rankings. He debuts at No. 1.

Boehle earned his ninth save of the season, throwing 1.2 innings to clinch the championship for Princeton.
