Sophomore diver Danielle Stramandi continued her stellar season with a victory in the 10-meter platform competition at the U.S. Diving Zone A Championships Saturday. Stra-mandi finished with a total score of 430.55 at the Championship, which was held in East Meadow, N.Y.
The win qualified Stramandi as one of five divers to advance from Zone A to the U.S. Diving National Indoor Championships, which will be held April 17-23 in Minneapolis. Besides determining the national champion and the members of the U.S. national team, the top 12 finishers in Minneapolis will receive an invitation to the U.S. Olympic Trials.
Stramandi earned a place on the All-America team with a 16th place finish at the NCAA Championships in Indianapolis in early March.
