Entries had to be in one of the six official languages of the United Nations — Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Spanish or Russian — and could not be in the applicant’s first or primary language of instruction. Entrants had to be full-time University students of at least 18 years of age and sponsored by a faculty member or representative of a university.
