News & Notes: Resident allegedly assault near Princeton cemetery

A town resident was allegedly assaulted by two men with a baseball bat on Nassau Street around11:37 p.m. on Saturday, according to a Campus Safety Alert sent to University students and staff around 2 p.m. on Sunday.

According to the victim, while he was walking near the cemetery behind St. Paul’s Church, two men wearing ski masks approached him. While the first man allegedly held the victim from behind, the second man allegedly hit him in the arm and the leg. The victim pleaded with the suspects to stop the attack and walked back to Nassau Street, where he asked a passerby to call the police, according to the alert. The victim reported injuries to his right forearm and a laceration to his left leg.

The suspects were described as light-complexioned males. The Princeton Police Department has neither issued a press release on the incident nor alerted the town community yet.
