Twice a year, students swarm Prospect Avenue for the peak of the University’s social calendar: Lawnparties. Featuring food trucks and live music leading up to the USG-sponsored headliner, the biannual event is an essential part of the Princeton student experience.

Nine days before voting begins, Mutemwa Masheke ’23 leads his competitors Mayu Takeuchi ’23 and Caroline Kirby ’23 in the race for Young Alumni Trustee according to a Daily Princetonian poll. The poll was open from April 16 to April 21 with a response rate of 11.6 percent. Over the past three years, turnout for the election have been 19 percent, 18 percent and 23.67 percent.

With 1,915 registered rising seniors and juniors and 902 available rooms, the upperclass room draw is by far the largest of the ten room draws that Princeton students participate in when selecting housing. Taking place from Friday, March 31 to Friday, April 7, the upperclass room draw saw rising juniors and seniors draw into 761 rooms that now house a total of 1,309 students. The remaining rooms will be used to place students on the waitlist in rooms over the summer.

At an event filled with music, food, and performing arts, 11 individuals, from students to staff to members of the Princeton community, shaved their heads in support of childhood cancer research. In their first partnership with Princeton University’s Civil Leadership Council (CLC), the St. Baldrick’s Foundation hosted a crowd of about 50 for “Tigers Shave for the Brave,“ attracting those who hoped to watch others shave their heads and some who volunteered at the last minute to cut their hair for the cause.

Behind the doors of Nassau Hall, a group of 39 individuals make the decisions that determine Princeton’s future. As the chief governing body of the University, the Board of Trustees passes the University’s budget, supervises the management of the endowment, sets changes in tuition and fees, determines what changes to teaching methods should be made, and crafts the admission policy that whittles Princeton’s more than 30,000 applicants to the lucky 1,500 incoming first-years.

At the end of Street Week 2023, 633 students were offered spots in bicker clubs, the largest bicker class this millennium. At least three of six bicker clubs had their lowest acceptance rates since at least 2001. Ivy and Tower Clubs welcomed their largest incoming classes in twenty years of analyzed data, with 87 and 141 new members, respectively.

Thousands of students use rail transportation every semester to commute into New York City and Philadelphia for internships, nightlife, and other events. While the University advertises that these major metropolitan hubs are “easily accessible” by train, an analysis of schedules reveals that commuting times can vary significantly depending on the day of the week and time of day.

With a 35-page Course Catalog and 544 events posted on CampusGroups, Wintersession 2023 offers a wide variety of courses, from “D&D Crash Course” to “Medical Skills 101.” The Daily Princetonian analyzed session dates, times, categories, and topics, revealing trends such as how most sessions are held on weekdays and how “Sustainability” is the category with the least number of offerings.

As the sun rises over Princeton’s campus, countless students, faculty, and staff make their morning trek to buy a cup of coffee. According to The Daily Princetonian’s Senior Survey, more than 66 percent of students drink coffee at least once a week, and over 40 percent drink at least five cups a week. With potentially thousands of University affiliates grabbing coffee every day, the ‘Prince’ set out to answer an essential question: Where is the cheapest cup of coffee in Princeton?
