Women’s basketball (4–7 overall, 0–0 Ivy) extended their win streak to three on Tuesday night at Monmouth (3–6). The Tigers bested the Hawks 79–47 in junior forward Bella Alarie’s second game back from injury.

No. 4 Princeton field hockey (15–5) concluded its season Friday at the NCAA Final Four in Louisville, Kentucky. The No. 2 Maryland Terrapins (22–2) earned a spot in the National Championship game with their 1–0 overtime victory against the Tigers.

On Sunday, No. 4 Princeton field hockey posted a dramatic comeback win over No. 6 Harvard to reach the NCAA Final Four. On Friday, the Tigers topped No. 13 Virginia as they played host to the NCAA Tournament’s early rounds. It will be Princeton’s second trip to the Final Four in three years.

On Saturday, No. 5 Princeton field hockey (13–4, 6–1 Ivy) finished up its regular season schedule with a 3–2 comeback win over the Penn Quakers. It was also Senior Day for the Class of 2019. The team honored seniors Nicole Catalino, Jane Donio-Enscoe, Annabeth Donovan, Sarah Holland, Casey Swezey, Sophia Tornetta, and Elise Wong prior to the match.

The undefeated football team (6–0, 3–0 Ivy) will face Cornell (3–3, 2–1) in its return to Powers Field at Princeton Stadium tomorrow afternoon. The Tigers are coming off a 29–21 win over Harvard (3–3, 1–2 Ivy) in which senior quarterback John Lovett threw for 207 yards and senior running back Charlie Volker recorded two rushing touchdowns. The victory was Princeton’s first real test in a season that includes five blowout wins.

On Alumni Day, No. 3 Princeton field hockey (11–3 overall, 4–0 Ivy League) bested the Brown Bears (4–8, 0–4) in a dominating 8–0 win.

This past weekend was a big one for Princeton field hockey. On Friday night, the Tigers (10–3 overall, 3–0 Ivy) traveled to New York City to take on Columbia (6–4 overall, 2–1 Ivy) under the lights. At halftime, Princeton led by only one goal, but in the second period, the team added three more tallies. The commanding 4–0 win was sophomore striker Clara Roth’s sixth career multi-goal game. For sophomore goalkeeper Grace Brightbill, the game was her collegiate debut, as she stepped into the net to replace junior Grace Baylis for the final 3:54. Princeton is now 21–1 all time against the Lions.

The No. 5 Princeton field hockey team (6–3 overall, 1–0 Ivy League) beat Dartmouth (3–4, 0–1) 3–0 Saturday afternoon to open the 2018 Ivy League season with a convincing victory. The game was broadcast on ESPN+ as part of the Ivy League’s new package deal with the sports programming giant.

The tenth-ranked Princeton open women’s rowing team returned to campus Saturday evening after a wild 36 hours that featured the Tigers’ only away race of the season. Princeton traveled to race No. 9 Virginia on Lake Monticello in Palmyra, Va. They came out of the weekend with an impressive win in the First Varsity Eight, who moved to 10–1 on the season.

It will be a busy morning on Lake Carnegie this Saturday as all four Princeton rowing squads host Ivy League competitors. The open women’s crew will be last to take to the water as they host the first-ever Ivy League Invitational. This regatta will feature all the Ivy League teams except Brown, who will travel next weekend to California to face West Coast crews at the Lake Natoma Invite.

From the Ivy League to the Olympic stage, Caroline Park ’11 has continued to play hockey at an elite level. Following her career as a Tiger, Park hoped to continue playing hockey, and she earned a spot on the combined Korean National Team. The two-time reigning Ivy League Champion women’s openweight crew are making changes and digging in after a tenth-place team finish at last May’s NCAA Championship on Mercer Lake. Senior Co-Captain Riley MacAulay is excited for racing to begin, and “expect[s] it will be a great season to win [another] Ivy Championship.”

The Princeton heavyweight men’s crew finished last season on a high note, outlasting perennial power California for fourth place in the Varsity 8 at the Intercollegiate Rowing Association (IRA) Championships hosted on Lake Natoma in Gold River, California. The team’s overall finish was highlighted by the second varsity boat, whose rowers defeated all other East Coast crews in their final race, coming in third behind Washington and California.

The Winter Olympics, hosted in Pyeongchang, South Korea, officially closed on Saturday night. The United States finished fourth in the medal count, with 23 medals, well behind Norway’s first place at 39. But for many Olympians such as Caroline Park ’11, the journey is about much more than winning a medal.

Last Friday night the Princeton women’s basketball team opened its season with a 72–52 win against the George Washington Colonials at home. Four Tigers scored in double figures, including senior guard Tia Weledji, who paced the team with 18 points.
