Avital Fried ’20 and Andrew Brown ’20 have been awarded 2020 Marshall Scholarships. The scholarship covers the cost of two years of graduate study in the United Kingdom at the university of the recipient’s choice.

On Monday, Oct. 21, the Tiger Confessions Facebook group was shut down, and all of the past content in it was deleted. In an email to students who had applied to moderate the page, the group administrator Christine Hu ’22, also known by the alias Ty Ger, announced that she has decided to close the group.

On Monday, Sept. 23, hours before she was scheduled to perform at a club in Orlando, Fla., the rapper CupcakKe announced to fans that she is retiring from music in a tearful Instagram live video. Her announcement came just eight days after her performance on the University campus, where she headlined Fall Lawnparties, organized by the Undergraduate Student Government.

On Sept. 23, CNN chief White House correspondent Jim Acosta addressed a packed audience of young and old on campus. In a talk moderated by Julian Zelizer, the Malcolm Stevenson Forbes, Class of 1941 Professor of History and Public Affairs, Acosta discussed the importance of journalism in the modern era and reflected on his experiences reporting on the Trump administration.

Father Gabriel Zeis, the director of and chaplain at the University’s Catholic campus ministry, resigned on Wednesday following an allegation of sexual abuse of a minor, which dates back to 1975. According to an email sent to student members of the Aquinas Institute, the on-campus Catholic ministry, Zeis denied the allegation but immediately resigned from both his position at the Institute and his position as Diocesan Vicar for Catholic Education.

Former Princeton ROTC Cadet General Mark Milley ’80 was officially confirmed as the next Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff by the Senate on Thursday, July 25. The University alum will now be the highest ranking officer in the United States Armed Forces and will serve as President Trump’s most senior military adviser.

On April 12, the James Madison Program in American Ideals and Institutions announced their selected fellows, a list that includes Dr. Marianna Orlandi, for the coming academic year. Last Friday, Yafah Edelman ’20 sent an email to residential college listservs alerting students to the fact that Orlandi has previously worked at the Center for Family and Human Rights (C-FAM), an organization that the Southern Poverty Law Center has classified as an anti-LGBT hate group.
