In an epic game to kick of the Round of 64, the men's basketball team can hold their heads up high, knowing they fought the No. 5-seeded Irish to the wire and only just missed a potentially game-winning three-pointer in the final seconds of the game. In one of the biggest games of Princeton’s history, the Tigers gave Notre Dame everything they had and unfortunately came up just short.

top-seeded Penn. Despite fighting valiantly, Princeton came up short against a

If the Tigers play like they did in the first half, we will be seeing both the men’s and women’s teams fighting for a tournament title on Sunday. Princeton capitalized on a sluggish Harvard offense to take a 25-16 lead into halftime. While many in the building seemed tired after 3 thrilling games earlier in the day, the Tigers did their part to energize Princeton’s faithful fans and build a 9 point lead.

Princeton currently trails Penn 33-30 in the first semifinal matchup of the inaugural Ivy League Men’s Basketball Tournament at the Palestra. In what can only be described as a fiery and emotional environment, Princeton was faced with a hostile crowd in an arena filled with local Penn fans.

Coming into this weekend, the Princeton women's basketball team knew that they were guaranteed an invitation to the inaugural Ivy League tournament. What they didn’t know, however, was if they would be there defending a regular season title, or just looking to turn a second or third place finish into a spot in the Big Dance this March. Ultimately, Princeton locked itself into second place in the Ivy League after Saturday’s result and will represent the No. 2 seed in this weekend’s tournament.

For four years, women's basketball seniors Taylor Brown, Vanessa Smith, and Jackie Reyneke have made Jadwin Gymnasium their home. On Saturday, they walked off the court for their final time at Jadwin, capping a wild and record-setting four years for the Class of 2017.

As basketball season inches closer to its conclusion, the Tigers continue to find ways to win and now have an inside track at the Ivy League regular season title and the top seed in the league’s inaugural postseason tournament. Princeton once again swept a weekend double header against Ivy League foes, beating Yale and Brown to win its seventh straight game and fourth on the road. This, combined with a Penn loss to Yale on Saturday, gives the Tigers (7-2) control over their own destiny for the first time this season.

Despite a strong effort, the Tigers fell to the the Quakers, 62-57, at Jadwin.
