University Health Services (UHS) recently updated the terms of its Student Health Plan (SHP), which cover referrals and various benefits, including temporarily increasing coverage for some services, especially those relating to COVID-19. These changes will apply to all students on the SHP.

The University will add the pass/D/fail (PDF) option to all undergraduate courses, according to an announcement from Dean of the College Jill Dolan. Decisions to move individual classes to PDF-only will be made on a course-by-course basis.

On Wednesday evening at 7:46 p.m., the University announced all undergraduate students “who are able” must return home and stay there until the end of the semester. Dean of the College Jill Dolan’s and Vice President for Campus Life Rochelle Calhoun’s letter, sent to all students, enumerated specific criteria students would have to meet in order to remain on campus. Students who do not fall into these criteria and register with the University will lose prox access by March 19.

At 9:02 a.m. Monday morning, University President Christopher L. Eisgruber ’83 updated the University about next steps regarding COVID-19 preparations. Among other changes, the letter announced plans for virtual instruction starting the week of March 23, and encouraged students to remain at home during that time.

On the afternoon of Tuesday, Feb. 25, graduate students from the Woodrow Wilson School (WWS) gathered in Wallace Hall to voice their support for a pilot program, in which they would take a new, half-term distribution requirement centered around questions of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI). As the students demonstrated, a council of faculty deliberated the issue in an adjacent room.
