Even Princeton
Shirley Tilghman’s Opening Addresses are so predictable that Tiger Mag gives out a bingo sheet to go along with it, but her call to “Occupy Princeton” certainly came as a surprise to the Class of 2016. Princeton is, after all, a school that gained a reputation as hostile to the Occupy movement last year. It appeared a courageous move, but in the end the president’s careful reappropriation invoked nothing contentious — merely a creative restatement of “in the nation’s service and the service of all nations.”
