New 'Prince' staff seizes power in bloodless coup

The 2007 managing board of The Daily Princetonian seized power in a dramatic coup yesterday, publishing the first of 134 issues during its year of rule.

At the helm is editor-in-chief Chanakya "Buddha" Sethi '07, who was elected by an overwhelming margin in December. A prolific journalist, his reporting ranged from the important (Alito) to the bizarre (Lohman). As an editor, he promises to sacrifice sleep and sanity to lead the paper in its 130th year.

Sethi has a capable board behind him. Running the newsroom are managing editors Neir "Future MD/JD/PhD/MBA" Eshel '07 and Tom "Who's the RIAA suing now?" Senn '07, who has enjoyed a rapid rise to the top during his tenure at the 'Prince.' From puddles to preceptors, they promise to provide comprehensive coverage of campus news.

Assisting them in that task are associate news editors Alexander "V is for Victory" Maugeri '07 and Ellen "Back from copy" Young '07. They'll be joined by Christian Burset '07 and Sanhita Sen '07, who've fled the country temporarily but say they'll return.

In Opinion, Anna "Mini" Huang '07 is gearing up to bring a captivating range of op-eds and columns to the page, while Robby Braun '07 promises to rule the editorial board with an iron fist.

The sports department will be led by Todd Ebe '07, Clarke Smith '07 and Tyler Woulfe '07, who are determined to prove that triumvirates can work.

The dynamic duo of Laura Fitzpatrick '08 and Isabel Wilkinson '08 is running the Street section, with the help of Antonia Devine '08 and A. Veronica Thew '08.

Kavita "Dominatrix Jr." Saini '08 — inheriting the role of copy editor — will be reading every word of the paper to catch the style mistakes that no one else would notice anyway.

Leading the design team is Nancy "The good Asian chem major" Khov '07, who promises to bring a no-nonsense attitude to the job. Her associate editors are Anand "Prospect 11" Atreya '07, Emily "There's no more space" Capra '08 and Owen "I can write too" Schaefer '08.

Ben "I like medium photos" Amster '07 and Leslie "I like sports" Lee '07 are back running the show as executive editors for photography, after discovering the existence of color last year. They'll be assisted by Katherine Anderson '08, Natalia Balko '07, Sarah Breslow '08 and Wes Shim '08.

Down the hall, Morgan Kennedy '07 will be taking care of business and working overtime.
