In a press release sent earlier today, the Municipality of Princeton announced that there have been 10 total cases of COVID-19 among Princeton residents. At least three of these individuals are over 65 years old, and one individual is a University student.

The Trump administration has changed American immigration policy so rapidly that Dina Paulson-McEwen can barely keep up. As the executive director of the Latin American Legal Defense and Education Fund (LALDEF), an advocacy group founded in Princeton and based in Trenton, Paulson-McEwen spends much of her time informing immigrants of these changes.

On Wednesday evening at 7:46 p.m., the University announced all undergraduate students “who are able” must return home and stay there until the end of the semester. Dean of the College Jill Dolan’s and Vice President for Campus Life Rochelle Calhoun’s letter, sent to all students, enumerated specific criteria students would have to meet in order to remain on campus. Students who do not fall into these criteria and register with the University will lose prox access by March 19.

At 9:02 a.m. Monday morning, University President Christopher L. Eisgruber ’83 updated the University about next steps regarding COVID-19 preparations. Among other changes, the letter announced plans for virtual instruction starting the week of March 23, and encouraged students to remain at home during that time.

Progressives fared well in The Daily Princetonian’s recent 2020 election poll, in which over half of respondents indicated they were “considering” casting a vote for Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders or Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren in the Democratic Primary. On the other side of the spectrum, 88.2 percent of self-identifying conservatives reported feeling “somewhat” or “very” judged on campus for their beliefs.
