AJ Sibley ’19 just wanted to finish his final paper. Sibley had spent hours staring at small black text on his computer screen. On a word document, he changed “can’t” to “cannot” and back again. He added and removed commas.

Taking a more whimsical approach to social media, the University welcomed the Class of 2022 with a playful music video featuring current students dancing on Powers Field. This Office of the Dean of Undergraduate Students-sponsored video features a cappella groups, dance companies, orientation leaders, and students from all parts of campus, as they all sing along to a Princeton parody of Taylor Swift’s “22.”

From July 9 to Sep. 1, the University will be hosting 13 scholars through the Visiting Scholars and Artists from Puerto Rico program. The program provides a space for researchers affected by the devastation of Hurricane Maria to advance their work. They will be provided with office space, access to library and scholarly resources, a stipend for living expenses and off-campus housing, and opportunities to interact with colleagues. The program is sponsored by the Program in Latin American Studies and the Office of the Provost and is endorsed by the Princeton Task Force on Puerto Rico.

On June 20, students from Princeton Young Democratic Socialists delivered a signed petition addressing concerns and grievances from campus workers in advance of upcoming union contract renegotiations. YDS created the petition using a grievance report they compiled after interviewing over thirty workers in Dining Services, Facilities, and other departments.
