For Ivy League women's basketball teams, advancing past the first round of NCAA tournament play has meant defying the odds.
Senior attacker Chris Brown played the hero for No. 3 Princeton men’s lacrosse (5–1, 1–0 Ivy League) as they won 21–20 in overtime at home against No. 6 Penn (3–2, 0–1). Brown scored with 2:15 to go in the sudden-death extra period for his sixth goal of the game, and it was the winning point for the Tigers.
The Tigers are facing a true heavyweight in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
The Princeton men’s volleyball team (5–12 overall, 4–6 Eastern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association) battled hard against No. 2 Penn State (16–3, 9–0 EIVA) on Friday, March 18. After four very close sets in front of a packed house at Dillon Gymnasium, the Tigers came up short, while the Nittany Lions kept their perfect conference record alive with a 3–1 victory (25–16, 25–23, 23–25, 25–21).
After an incredible season — albeit with a disappointing end at the National Invitation Tournament — multiple Tigers were given one more award for their trophy cases.

Women’s basketball at Ivy Madness
Despite entering the season unranked in the preseason top-20 poll, the Princeton Tigers (4–1 overall, 0–0 Ivy League) have come out scorching, beating programs ranked in the top-three in consecutive games.
While the women’s basketball team found great success in Cambridge, the varsity baseball team took a trip through the south and found much tougher sledding.
