Last Saturday, in their first game of Ivy League play this season, women’s soccer was defeated by Yale 1—0 at Roberts Stadium in Princeton. After Yale scored in the 17th minute, the Tigers could not come back, resulting in a critical loss early in the season.

Women’s soccer (3—3—2 overall, 0—0 Ivy League) closed out their non-conference play on a high note, defeating the William and Mary Tribe (2—6—1) 1—0 on Sunday at home. The clean sweep by the Tigers earned senior goalkeeper Natalie Grossi her 29th career shutout, tying the all-time Ivy League record with former Dartmouth star Kristin Luckenbill. The team’s preseason record finished at 3—3—2 with losses to ranked opponents Georgetown (6—2—1), Boston College (7—1—1), and Maryland (5—3—2).

In its latest non-conference away game on Sunday, Princeton women’s soccer (2–3–1, 0–0 Ivy) fell to Maryland (4–2–2) 3–0. Maryland scored two goals in the first 17 minutes of the game, establishing a dominant lead that was extended in the second half. Sunday evening’s game was the first time the two teams met since 1995, and Maryland now leads the all-time record 3–1–1.

Men’s lacrosse (7–6, 2–3 Ivy) defeated Harvard University (5–7, 1–4) 19–15 on Saturday afternoon at Sherrerd Field, keeping their playoff hopes alive. Junior attacker and captain Michael Sowers had 10 points — three goals and seven assists — which brings his career total to 247, tying all-time point record holder Kevin Lowe ’94.

Princeton currently sits tied with Cornell for third place in the Ivy League after last weekend’s double header that saw the team fall to Harvard (13–8, 6–2) and edge out a win over Dartmouth (11–13, 2–6).

Men’s basketball (12–8, 4–3 Ivy) was defeated at home last night by Harvard (12–8, 5–2) 78–69. A close game ended in disappointment after the Tigers lost the lead with seven minutes to go in the second half. Princeton was first place in the Ivy League going into last weekend, but these past three games have seen them slide to fourth place in the conference.
