“Needless to say, democracy: in Hebrew, we say ‘democratia,’” history professor Yair Mintzker said in his speech to protestors gathered in front of the Center for Jewish Life (CJL) on Monday, March 27. Over 70 protestors were present, voicing their opposition to a talk at the CJL given by Ronen Shoval, a visiting fellow at the James Madison Program, that evening.

A letter signed by members of the Princeton community and delivered to the English department by Alexandra Orbuch ’25 calls on the department to condemn the Feb. 8 Edward W. Said ’57 Memorial Lecture with writer Mohammed El-Kurd. The letter cites several public actions by El-Kurd that it alleges are antisemitic. The letter does not call for the English department to cancel the event or end its sponsorship.

Stephen Daniels ’24 was elected president by a nearly 40 point margin in this year’s Undergraduate Student Government (USG) winter elections. The Senate-initiated referendum on gender-neutral bathrooms in dorms passed with 58 percent of the votes, with 27 percent voting no and 15 percent voting to abstain.

A new 24/7 support line from Counseling and Psychological Services (CPS) went live on Monday, Nov. 21. Students can call 609-258-3141 to speak with a counselor any day of the year, including evenings, weekends, and holidays and regardless of whether they are currently on campus, according to the CPS website.
