In an effort to install an automatic braking system throughout the state, New Jersey Transit is suspending all Dinky service from Sunday, Oct. 14 through January 2019. According to NJ Transit’s website, the Dinky service will be replaced by buses on weekdays and weekends to accommodate passengers from the University to Princeton Junction.

On Aug. 28, the Office of the Dean of Undergraduate Students announced a partnership with Portfolium, a professional social networking platform that allows undergraduates to create an online co-curricular and extracurricular profile within the University community. Student mailboxes in Frist Campus Center will be replaced with package lockers by next fall. These “smart lockers” combine modern software and hardware technologies so that students can pick up their packages anytime that Frist is open, according to Director of Print and Mail Services Ashley Gorfine.

During finals period this year, the University is offering accommodations in the form of rescheduled final examinations for Muslim students observing Ramadan. The Office of the Registrar explained that it has long accommodated religious observance by rescheduling exams, in accordance with its official final examination policy. This is the first time in recent years that the policy will be applied to the Muslim holiday.

After four late-winter nor’easters in a span of three weeks, University personnel were faced with widespread damage on campus in the form of fallen trees, broken branches, and scattered debris. While it is not particularly uncommon for storms to hit the Northeast so late in the season, the quick succession of storms, as well as the combination of wet snow and gales, led to unusually hazardous conditions on campus.
