The Undergraduate Student Government (USG) Social Committee has announced they will no longer host band LANY at this year’s Lawnparties, scheduled for this Sunday, Oct. 3. This comes after many students expressed concern with the announcement of the headliner after allegations of predatory behavior, manipulation, and emotional abuse came to light about lead singer Paul Klein.

Last Wednesday, Sept. 22, marked the first operational day for Princeton Transportation and Parking Services (TPS)’s pilot service, TigerAccess. The new transit system offers curb-to-curb transportation for University visitors, students, and faculty members with mobility-related disabilities or medical conditions.

On Sep. 23, Vote100 — a student-run campaign dedicated to promoting civic engagement among the student body — teamed up with the anti-gerrymandering web application Representable in an effort to fight gerrymandering and raise awareness about its effects on American democracy. The event that they co-sponsored, which was tabled on the first floor of Frist Campus Center, informed students about the effects of gerrymandering in their communities and encouraged students to register to vote and sign Vote100’s pledge to participate in all future elections.

On Sunday, Aug. 29, Princeton officially welcomed the Classes of 2024 and 2025 to campus with the tradition of Opening Exercises and the Pre-rade. Opening Exercises are held annually in the University Chapel, featuring an address by University President Christopher Eisgruber ’83 and interfaith blessings. Immediately following, the Pre-rade welcomes first-year students in through FitzRandolph Gate, a tradition dating back to 2004.
