A musical that reimagines romantic tropes as age-old as Pyramus and Thisbe with the music of the 1960s and runs almost uninterruptedly for over 50 years is, quite literally, timeless. In this sense, Princeton University Players’ Reunions show “The Fantasticks” could not be more fitting for the occasion.

Were the young soldiers who fought in Vietnam heroes, courageously combating the Viet Cong to defend the Constitution, or murderers, blindly executing brutal orders as agents of circumstance? The Lewis Center’s “Hero”— a work written, directed and choreographed by Eamon Foley ’15 – asks this question. Foley’s “Hero” effectively humanizes the soldiers, dually depicting the death and tragedy of war as well as the “hopes and expectations” of the soldiers.

In typical drag shows, the performers traditionally remove their wigs at the end of a set as a final flourish. Director Morgan Young ’16’s vision for “La Cage Aux Folles” is for the show to metaphorically “keep on the wig.” Young is fascinated by drag as a performance art, she said. In Princeton University Players’ and Theatre Intime’s joint production of "La Cage Aux Folles," Young presents drag as more performance than visual spectacle. Despite that, she and cast members Carey Camel ’17 and Evan Strasnick ’15 still appreciate that the show’s set and costumes are aesthetically gorgeous.

Ah, water. That thing we can’t live without, and all that jazz. While we all know that water is essential for functioning, our daily H2O intake isn’t something that many of us think about on a daily basis. Let’s be honest, when you wake up in the morning, the first thing on your mind probably isn’t anything along the lines of: “I’m so excited to drink my daily amount of water today!”

Michael Pinsky ’15 and Vaidhy Murti ’15 are the creators of Friendsy, a mobile app that offers college students a secure network through which they can become more connected. One main feature of Friendsy is the option for users to categorize their interest in another student as friendship, hookup or date. The person gets an anonymous notification, and if both people are interested in the same way, they get a match. With the hint feature, users are allowed to tell the prospective match as much about themselves as they want. The other main function of Friendsy is the “ChitChat” tab, where users can talk anonymously to other users and eventually add each other on their friend networks if their is mutual interest.
