President of Tower Club Vincent Jiang ’25 was elected as Interclub Council (ICC) President on Monday, March 18, according to a press release from the ICC. Jiang is the first ICC President to also be the President of Tower Club since Martin Scheeler ’11, who was elected to both positions in 2010. The ICC elections follow new officer regimes taking over the 11 eating clubs that line Prospect Avenue.

“How are people talking about USG now?” That question headlined a slide as the Undergraduate Student Government (USG) met for its final weekly meeting of the semester on Sunday, Dec. 3. This marks the last such meeting under President Stephen Daniels ’24, as the next president will have taken the office by the time meetings resume in January. In the first meeting of his presidency on Feb. 6, he said he hoped that, by the end of his term, the way students talk about USG would be “meaningfully different.”

Candidates for Undergraduate Student Government (USG) vice president Chase Magnano ’25, Srista Tripathi ’25 and Warren Shepherd ’27 faced off in the first-ever vice-presidential debate co-hosted by The Daily Princetonian and Whig-Clio. This marks a change from the traditional presidential debate given that the role of president stands essentially uncontested, with Avi Attar ’25 as the presumptive president-elect, though Braiden Aaronson ’25 will also be listed on the ballot.

The Undergraduate Student Government (USG) met in its weekly meeting on Sunday, Nov. 12 to discuss an amendment to the Undergraduate Student Life Committee (USLC) charter to appoint a Sexual Harassment/Assault Advising, Resources and Education (SHARE) liaison, and vote on various funding allocations. The meeting was held virtually because USG President Stephen Daniels ’24 was not on campus and could not lead the meeting in person.

This Saturday, thousands of Princeton alumni and parents flocked to see the Princeton football team reach a surprising victory over longtime nemesis Harvard. To the Undergraduate Student Government (USG), this victory came with a significant achievement for their programming. At the start of their October 22 meeting, USG President Stephen Daniels ’24 spoke about the success of the USG-sponsored Homecoming football game event which included a J.Crew pop-up shop and free food. He estimated that attendance was around 300–400 students. Daniels also stated he was “preparing for the Yale game,” mentioning the potential bonfire that would occur if Princeton also wins the game against Yale on Nov. 11. USG currently has $10,000 budgeted under their bonfire reserve.

In the wake of a significant funding increase, Princeton’s Undergraduate Student Government (USG) discussed an expansion of the scope of the USG Projects Board in a meeting on Sunday, Oct. 8. The expansion was approved unanimously by the group, though it received questions from the sisters Isabella Shutt ’24 and Genevieve Shutt ’26 for not going far enough.

The USG's budget has ballooned, from $290,000 last semester to of $585,755 dollars for the semester as a starting amount, according to a presentation by USG Treasurer Walker Penfield ‘25. The allocation comes following an increase in student activities fees at the end of the spring semester from $45.50 dollars to $95.50 dollars for the current school year. During the meeting, students learned that fall Lawnparties had received a significant pay bump that also went towards alleviating other student groups’ contributions to food and activities
