Upon announcing its civil rights investigation into the University last month, the Department of Education (DOE) gave Nassau Hall 21 days to produce relevant documents and 28 days to make President Christopher Eisgruber ’83 available for an under-oath interview. A report released on Oct. 23 by the Environmental Working Group (EWG) found 31 contaminants in the town’s water between 2012 and 2017, including some known to cause cancer, hormonal disruptions, nervous system damage, and other health problems. The study was approached with skepticism by both New Jersey American Water and University professors and administrators.

Jazz band Mwenso & the Shakes is slated to perform at McCarter Theatre on Nov. 6. The group describes itself as a “troupe of global artists who perform music that merges the highest form of entertainment and artistry while commanding a formidable timeline of jazz and blues expression through African and Afro American music.” The Daily Princetonian had the opportunity to sit down with lead vocalist and bandleader Michael Mwenso to preview the upcoming show.

The Dinky, the train line that runs from Princeton to Princeton Junction, is set to resume service on May 24, after its initially scheduled return in January was postponed to an indefinite date in the second quarter of 2019. The line has been “temporarily discontinued” since Oct.14.

The buses that have been substituting for the Dinky since Oct. 14 are leaving commuters behind and causing them to miss their train connections, due to their maximum capacity of 63 people in comparison with the Dinky’s 119. Students who spoke with The Daily Princetonian said the problem has been especially bad at the beginnings and ends of breaks, when more people come to the station at once, with extra luggage.
