‘A second family’: Muslim Student Association, campus organizations cater to community during Ramadan: On Monday, nearly 60 University students that observe Ramadan broke their fast together at the first community Iftar since returning to campus after spring break. The event represented the start of many efforts to foster community and increase accessibility to halal meals during Ramadan this year. According to Lauren Belinsky, the assistant director of marketing and communications for Campus Dining, student feedback has helped to diversify “where students can pick up meals during this time.”  Imam Khalil Abdullah, the assistant dean for Muslin life, explained to the ‘Prince’ that “[Ramadan] is about fellowship, community, and being with each other.”

OPINION | We’re TikToking closer to the end of free speech

According to a TikTok circulating last year, Princeton accepted 0.00 percent of regular decision applicants to the Class of 2027. This, of course, was not true: the poster had misunderstood a Daily Princetonian humor article. Regardless, Americans have the right to access this information. In today’s column, I discuss the recent legislation passed by the House of Representatives which could result in a ban of TikTok in the United States, and why college students should care — not because it will hinder their ability to procrastinate on papers, but because it attacks their First Amendment rights to free speech.

Staff Writer for The Prospect Brianna Melanie Suliguin reflects on her experience joining the KoKo Pops as a novice dancer. She describes how her memories of dancing as a child allowed her to express herself despite never having any formal dance experience. In her second week on campus, Suliguin began to prepare herself for auditions, describing the jitters of auditions and how she was shaken by the artistic director’s impressive skill. Weekly rehearsals forced her to pay attention to the tiny details of dances — even those she was not involved in. Suliguin explains that joining KoKo Pops helped her to learn about her dance preferences, strengths, and styles, and describes the strong community within the group.
