Todays Briefing:

CONCENTRATIONS TO BECOME MAJORS: On April 25, the University approved a proposal that would allow students to pursue academic “minors,” beginning with the Class of 2025. A formal minors program will allow for departments to propose a body of stand-alone coursework as opposed to the current interdisciplinary nature of certificates. In addition, a proposal to change the nomenclature of “concentrations” to “majors” was also approved and will take effect in the 2023–24 academic year.

Cromley writes, “I’ve started lingering more, pausing to watch a bird poking at the ground or a butterfly fluttering past. Because of these moments of stillness, I’ve started paying more attention to the flowers that make my run so colorful.”
