Editor-in-Chief Marie-Rose Sheinerman and Managing Editor Omar Farah introduce The Daily Princetonian’s latest special issue titled “Queer Remembrances, Queer Futures.” Sheinerman and Farah write, “As Princeton’s paper of record, The Daily Princetonian plays an important role in the creation and maintenance of the queer archive on campus. Unfortunately, given a history of violence toward and attempted erasure of the LGBTQ+ community, the archive of queer existence on this campus and beyond is often remarkably thin and marred by a lack of empathy for its subjects.”
They conclude by adding, “Our sincere hope is that this marks not a one-off product, but a catalyst for continued, consistent, and abundant storytelling in the ‘Prince’ for and by members of the Princeton queer community.”
Today’s newsletter features some of the stories from the issue, but check out the full spread either online (click here) or by picking up a print copy.

- A NIGHT IN MANHATTAN: Head Data Editor and Senior Writer Sam Kagan writes a profile on Griffin Maxwell Brooks ’23 while following Brooks during a night out at a Manhattan club. Brooks, a mechanical and aerospace engineering major, is also a Division I diver and prominent on TikTok with over 980,000 followers. Brooks, who identifies as non-binary, gay, and genderfluid, discusses their experience from growing up in suburban New Jersey to life on campus.
- GENDER-INCLUSIVE HOUSING: New dorms in New College East (NCE), New College West (NCW), and Hobson College have been designed to include gender-neutral restroom facilities, according to Deputy University Spokesperson Michael Hotchkiss. In addition, the Gender + Sexuality Resource Center has created a “Bathroom Accommodation Pre-Draw Form” for students to be given a room and bathroom assignment that may be more gender-inclusive. Still, students have said that these resources have been difficult to navigate and that there is a general lack of communication between the University and students.
