Ella Feiner ’22 to compete on ‘Jeopardy!’ in college tournament

ELLA FEINER ’22 TO BE ON ‘JEOPARDY!’: How good are Princeton students at trivia? We are soon to find out. Ella Feiner ’22 will compete on “Jeopardy! National College Championship,” beginning Feb. 8, 2022 against students from Rice University and Louisiana State University. While Feiner will be competing on the show, she has not taken the path that many would expect — she hadn’t competed in Quiz Bowl or trivia-based competitions in high school. Instead, Feiner credits her accomplishments to her friends at Princeton, who bonded over their love of Jeopardy! freshman year.

Why is Princeton harboring a man who condones threats against American diplomats?

Guest contributors Gabriel Noronha and Morgan Ortagus call for the University “to firmly condemn the threats condoned by” Dr. Seyed Hossein Mousavian. These threats were made against Brian Hook who led “secret negotiations for the release of Princeton graduate student Xiyue Wang, held by the Iranian government,” according to Noronha and Ortagus, former officials in the U.S. State Department. They also criticize the University for as of yet not responding to a letter written by the United Against Nuclear Iran (UANI) that called for Dr. Mousavian’s dismissal.

The attack on Dr. Mousavian

In response to the recent letter from the United Against Nuclear Iran (UANI) to University leaders regarding Dr. Seyed Hossein Mousavian, Professor of Public and International Affairs Emeritus Frank N. von Hippel defends Dr. Mousavian and writes that the “UANI’s attack on Dr. Mousavian should be understood for what it is: a hatchet job against a political opponent.” Furthermore, von Hippel adds, “For his part, since coming to Princeton in 2009, Mousavian has worked tirelessly for a peaceful solution of the confrontation between Iran and the United States.”
