OBITUARY: Journalist Robin C. Herman ’73, a pioneer for women in the industry from The Daily Princetonian to The New York Times, died on Tuesday, Feb. 1 at age 70 from ovarian cancer. Herman, as one of the first women to enter Princeton as an undergraduate student in 1969, was also the first woman to become a regular reporter for the ‘Prince’ and, later, the first woman to become a sportswriter for The New York Times. Herman is known for being one of the first two female journalists to gain access to locker rooms for coverage in the National Hockey League in 1975. READ THE STORY →
OLYMPICS: Nathan Crumpton ’08 finished 19th overall in the skeleton event at the Winter Olympics, representing American Samoa and making headlines by dressing in traditional Samoan clothing. Crumpton also recently announced his candidacy for one of the two open spots on the International Olympic Committee Athletes' Commission with hopes of increasing financial stability for Olympic athletes.
