USG establishes Peer Representatives;
Sir Paul McCartney publishes a new book

In their Sunday meeting, the Undergraduate Student Government (USG) voted to formally establish Peer Representatives as an Honor Committee resource and discussed the University’s grading policy. Explaining the recent history of grading policy, Dolan states that the grading has become increasingly discipline-specific over the last few years. The Senate also approved two new members of the Honor Committee.

Last Tuesday, Sir Paul McCartney published his new book, “The Lyrics: 1956 to the Present,” a two-volume self-portrait of McCartney told through 154 of his songs and commentaries. Professor Paul B. Muldoon, Pulitzer-prize winning poet as well as University Professor in the Humanities and creative writing in the Lewis Center for the Arts, helped edit the book in the last five years, describing the experience to be “an absolute hoot” as McCartney was a “joyous person.” This past February, Muldoon invited the Beatle as a guest to ATL496: How to Write a Song taught alongside founding member and bassist for Lake Street Dive, Bridget Kearney. ATL 496 will be offered in February 2022, as well.

  • Princeton men’s soccer beats Penn! Sophomore forward Walker Gillepsie’s goal in the 85th minute was all the Tigers needed to defeat Penn 1–0 and clinch the Ivy League Championship. The win also cemented the Tigers’ spot in the upcoming NCAA tournament.
  • Princeton women’s soccer crushed the last game of the season against Penn. Junior midfielder Marissa Hart scored the lone goal of the game as the Tigers beat Penn 1–0 to wrap up their season. The Tigers were selected to compete in the NCAA tournament and will play Vermont in the first round.
  • Despite not winning the Ivy League title this year, the field hockey team managed to end this season on a high note. The Tigers dominated Bedford Field against the Columbia Lions this past Saturday, winning 5–1 to close out their season. 
  • Weekend Recap: The women's ice hockey team remained undefeated against the Rensselaer Polytech Institute (RPI) Engineers and the Union University Bulldogs last Friday. The men’s ice hockey team crushed both Ivy Openers against the Brown Bears and the Yale Bulldogs this past weekend. Women’s volleyball suffered a league defeat against Brown but rebounded against the Yale Bulldogs on Saturday.
