• Senior Columnist Brittani Telfair addresses the harmful ramifications of Drake’s “Girls Want Girls,” which she argues sexualizes queer love for the benefit of heterosexual men. Telfair writes that the song, “uses queer women as props for heterosexual fantasies, and thus harmfully normalizes the already-rampant sexualization, fetishization, and belittlement of LGBTQ+ people.”
• Columnist Allen Liu advocates for students to value the time they now have in person at Princeton and to foster community rather than fixate on any missed “essential” experiences. In considering these experiences as part of a bucket list, Liu adds, “We focus on whether we’ve checked certain items off the list, which is often out of our control, rather than the value we get from being here.”
