Today’s Briefing:
Professor Keith Wailoo was named a laureate of the 2021 Dan David prize for his work on the history of health and medicine. Each year the prize chooses a different field to recognize based on current events, and then awards individuals and institutions based on the theme in three categories: past, present, and future. Professor Wailoo was recognized in the “past” category for his research into the historical intersections of race, science, and health equity.

Thanks to the complications of international laws and tax policies, a number of students living abroad this semester can no longer work for the University. This includes Ilia Curto Pelle ’22, a junior who has worked with a special collection of historic coins since his freshman year. Pelle used the extra income to help his parents pay for tuition.
