In December, Terrace Club passed a measure to allow graduate students to sign in to the club during this year’s round of spring sign-ins. Despite the club’s advertising at TigerTransit stops, high-traffic areas and the Graduate College, no graduate student took advantage of the policy change.

Bill Zeller, a fifth-year graduate student in the computer science department, died Wednesday night at age 27 as a result of injuries from a suicide attempt.
Zeller was found in his University apartment by Public Safety officers at about 6 a.m. Sunday, shortly after he attempted to take his own life. Brain damage due to oxygen deprivation left Zeller in a coma at University Medical Center at Princeton until the evening of Jan. 5, when he was removed from life support.

A graduate student in the computer science department apparently attempted to take his own life over the weekend, and he is currently a patient at the University Medical Center at Princeton.
The student, whose name is being withheld to protect his privacy, posted a 4,000-word note online in which he spoke of intense emotional distress and explained his intentions.

Members of Terrace Club voted by a margin of roughly 77 percent to 23 percent to admit graduate students as members during sign-ins this spring, according to an e-mail sent to club members by Terrace president-elect Ricardo Lopez ’12 on Tuesday. Terrace will be the only eating club that allows graduate students to join.

The Graduate School Government follows with interest the possibility of Terrace Club extending membership to graduate students.
