Occupy Princeton

A TigerTransit bus driver was temporarily suspended last week, allegedly as a response to his attempts to start a union, sparking an aggressive campaign from Occupy Princeton to save his job. After being handed a two-day suspension, the driver, only known as “Al,” returned to work last Wednesday.

An Occupy Wall Street forum held on Friday centered on the justification for the Occupy Wall Street movement and its goals and consequences, beginning with statements by the eight participants and ending with questions from the audience.

Occupy Princeton has done everything but allow for open political discourse.

YouTube videos of chants might get media coverage, but it is a facade that works to assuage our guilt about Princeton student’s apathy. If we really want to make a difference, what ought to be on the forefront of everyone’s minds is the impending political race.

Simple, smart and clear: This is exactly how protests should work — Occupy Princeton has much to learn from the Russians.
