Male students make up 54.1 percent of the new sophomore class of the six bicker clubs, according to a review of membership lists obtained by The Daily Princetonian. Of the nearly 500 sophomores these clubs accepted in February, 262 were male and 222 were female.

In the inaugural year of the new multi-club bicker system, 12 percent of students who bickered or joined Charter Club entered the selection process for more than one selective club. This percentage represents 91 students.

Changes to the eating clubs’ member selection process will be deferred for one year, the University announced Tuesday morning. While the clubs generally supported the minor modifications, concern over lack of support from two clubs as well as the short amount of time between the announcement and the beginning of this year’s member selection process led to the delay.

The eating clubs will soon decide whether to adopt an alternative member selection process, based on recommendations issued last May by the Task Force on Relationships between the University and the Eating Clubs, University Vice President and Secretary Bob Durkee ’69 said.

Since announcing its new weighted sign-in system in September, Charter Club has held six sophomore events, with activities ranging from a Monday Night Football viewing to a “Fraturday” party. Despite initial concerns that the system represented a move toward greater exclusivity, both current and prospective members of Charter said their experiences have been positive, citing the mutual benefits of the new system to sophomores and the club as a whole.
