The women's hockey team’s season began on a disappointing note, with the Tigers dropping five of their first six battles on the ice. This start was only the beginning of what became a roller coaster year for Princeton, characterized by both streaks of poor play and streaks of outstanding execution. A seven-game winless streak put the Tigers’ conference record at 3-6-1, and the team was at risk of missing the playoffs for the first time since the 2000-01 season.

When the women’s hockey team skated out onto the ice this past Friday at Baker Rink to face Quinnipiac in a best-of-three ECAC quarterfinal series, it had won 13 of its previous 15 games, including eight of nine at Baker Rink. But Princeton could not get past a tough Quinnipiac defense, as the Bobcats swept the series 2-0, securing a spot in the ECAC semifinals for the first time in program history.

The women’s hockey team finished out its regular season play this past weekend with a pair of away matches against Brown and Yale. They finished the weekend with a perfect 2-0, beating Brown on Friday 4-2 before proceeding to beat Yale on Saturday 4-1.
