Emerging fresh from the gloomiest days of indoor winter training, the crews put on an impressive show this weekend with three of the four teams racing.

The signs of spring are reassuring, but few students on campus are more excited about the warm weather than the athletes of the men’s and women’s crews.

While most students still have a few days before they return to campus for the new school year, fall varsity athletes have already found their way back to Princeton to start preseason training. With the beginning of the fall seasons just a few weeks away and some exciting stories on the horizon, we bring you the final installment of this summer’s athletics highlights.

For the 24th straight year, Princeton athletics can boast a national title. The men's lightweight crew made sure of that on Saturday in Cherry Hill, N.J., with its second straight victory in the Intercollegiate Rowing Association championships.

Since arriving at Princeton in the fall of 2007, junior Barrett LaChance has been an integral member of the men's lightweight crew that won the Head of the Charles the past two seasons. In this interview, LaChance talks about the strides he's made since freshman year and his love for ’90s grunge music.
