The 2010-11 season brought much success for the men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams, from winning two Ivy League titles to becoming a YouTube sensation.

For the 10th time in the past 12 years, the women’s swimming and diving team won the Ivy League Championships hosted at DeNunzio Pool this past weekend. The Tigers (7-0 overall, 7-0 Ivy League) finished with 1,562 points, followed closely by Harvard (6-1, 6-1) with 1,496 points. The next-closest competitor was Columbia (5-4, 3-4) with 894 points.

Coming off of an undefeated dual meet season in the Ivy League, the women’s swimming and diving team is looking forward to hosting the Ivy League Championship this weekend, starting Thursday. All of the Ancient Eight teams will be competing at DeNunzio Pool, with preliminary races beginning in the morning and finals in the evening every day of the meet.

The men’s swimming and diving team won its first 92 meets at DeNunzio Pool, its record spanning for more than two decades. But the streak came to an end this weekend when Princeton (8-4, 4-1) fell to Navy (11-1) in a heartbreaking 167-133 defeat.

The women’s swimming and diving team found historic success at this weekend’s annual double-dual meet with Harvard (6-1 overall, 6-1 Ivy League) and Yale (5-3, 4-2), sweeping all 16 events and securing victories of margins greater than 100 points over both schools. Princeton’s (5-0, 5-0) strong performance extended the team’s dual meet winning streak to 37 and will likely accord the Tigers strong consideration for a national ranking.
