The men’s and women’s hockey teams each have a pair of big ECAC matchups on tap, as they will both face Brown and Yale this Friday and Saturday.

The goaltending tandem of senior Mike Condon and junior Sean Bonar may provide the highest excitement factor on the ice this weekend. After rehabilitating themselves on the road last weekend, the men’s hockey team (9-10-4 overall, 7-6-3 ECAC) returns home to Baker Rink for the beginning of a final, back-to-back home series. Unprepared for Clarkson, whom they will play again Friday, and St. Lawrence, whom they play Saturday, in the first road stretch back in November, the Tigers have ample reasons to be excited and confident going into the rematches. The source of their prowess begins right between the pipes.

The women's hockey team’s season began on a disappointing note, with the Tigers dropping five of their first six battles on the ice. This start was only the beginning of what became a roller coaster year for Princeton, characterized by both streaks of poor play and streaks of outstanding execution. A seven-game winless streak put the Tigers’ conference record at 3-6-1, and the team was at risk of missing the playoffs for the first time since the 2000-01 season.

After suffering a 2-1 home loss to Yale on Dec. 3, the women’s hockey team’s conference record stood at a dismal 3-6-1. The Tigers were in danger of failing to qualify for the ECAC tournament for the first time in 10 years. After losing to the Bulldogs, however, the Tigers (16-12-1 overall, 13-8-1 ECAC) quickly turned things around and are now firing on all cylinders.
