A man whose wallet and iPhone were allegedly stolen from Wawa used the phone's tracking software to find the device, leading police to a nearby car filled with marijuana and drug paraphernalia, according to the Borough Police.

Starting on Monday, the Princeton Borough Police will be conducting additional patrols and checkpoints as part of the annual statewide “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” campaign.

A 20-year veteran of the Borough police is suing the department under the state whistle-blower protection law, claiming that he was fired in an attempt to “silence him” for investigating another officer. Sgt. Kenneth Riley was placed under internal investigation and indicted by a grand jury in 2008. He was later fired.

Public Safety will no longer be required to notify the Princeton Borough Police of calls from Prospect Avenue. Under the newly revised policy, if students call Public Safety from the eating clubs, they will receive the same response as the one they would receive if they called from an on-campus location.

The Borough has requested a new trial after a Superior Court jury awarded $525,000 to a police officer who claimed that the police department retaliated against him for filing a racial discrimination complaint.
