On Sunday, at the NASA Ames Research Center in Palo Alto, Calif., 13 past and present University researchers were awarded the $3 million Breakthrough Prize in Fundamental Physics for their “detailed maps of the early universe that greatly improved our knowledge of the evolution of the cosmos and the fluctuations that seeded galaxies,” according to a University press release.

The International Education Week Kickoff Reception was held at the Weickart Atrium of the Louis A. Simpson International Building on Nov. 13, from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
The event was hosted by the Davis International Center, the Office for International Programs, Princeton Institute for International and Regional Studies, Princeton in Asia, Princeton in Africa, Princeton in Latin America, and the Office of the Vice Provost of International Affairs.

The University will award its top alumni honors, the Woodrow Wilson Award and the James Madison Medal, to Charles Gibson ’65 and Daniel Mendelsohn GS ’94, respectively. The official award ceremony will take place on campus during Alumni Day on Feb. 24, where Gibson and Mendelsohn will also deliver speeches.

The last time the University updated its website was 2007 — when there were no tablets and few mobile devices. On April 19, the University released a public preview of a new design for its main website. The new website fluidly adapts from a mobile to computer screen. Students, faculty, staff, and other visitors to the site are welcome to provide input and feedback on the new website design.
