The Undergraduate Student Government (USG) Senate held a special meeting on Monday, April 18 to discuss an appeal filed by four senate members that contested “the actions of Chief Elections Manager.” This comes as the results of Referendum No. 3, which calls on the University to halt usage of Caterpillar machinery, await certification. The senate voted on whether to accept the appeal in a meeting that wasn’t open to the public, but have yet to announce the results of their vote.

During the fall 2021 semester, many undergraduate students found themselves sick with a variety of seasonal illnesses, such as the common cold and strep throat. On Tuesday, March 1, an apparent change to the frequency of mandated COVID-19 testing was published on the University COVID-19 resources webpage, leading many students to believe that protocols had shifted from weekly to monthly testing. But on Tuesday evening, a University spokesperson told The Daily Princetonian that the posting was inadvertent and the policy post was unpublished from the University page at around the same time.

On Feb. 18, Dean of the College Jill Dolan and Vice President for Campus Life W. Rochelle Calhoun sent a memo to the undergraduate student body addressing the recent spike in undergraduate COVID-19 cases. The memo, which urged students to “take good care to limit your exposure to avoid testing positive for COVID[-19]” in advance of midterms week, has sparked controversy on campus, as some students have argued the email was insensitive and placed an unfair burden on students who test positive.
