For its sixth annual Jewish Disability Awareness and Inclusion Shabbat, the Center for Jewish Life (CJL) hosted Emily Ladau, a Jewish disability activist and author, for Shabbat on Friday, April 12. Ladau’s work as an activist began at age 10, when she made an appearance on Sesame Street to teach kids about what life is like with a physical disability.

As the semester comes to an end, Project’s Board is also coming to the end of its semester budget. Several groups have reported receiving less or no funding in the final weeks of the semester, leading to speculation about the status of the Projects Board budget. The Daily Princetonian spoke with USG and Projects Board representatives, as well as student group leaders to understand how this happened.

In the Native Hawaiian culture, tī leaf leis are a symbol of protection and welcome. One of these leis was gifted to professor J. Kēhaulani Kauanui by Ila Nako ’26, a student leader in Natives at Princeton (NAP), and two other Native Hawaiian students when the anthropologist visited campus last October.

An approximately 4.8 magnitude earthquake struck campus at approximately 10:25 a.m. on Friday, April 5. According to the United States Geological Survey, the epicenter of the earthquake was in Tewksbury, N.J., approximately 25 miles north of Princeton.

As President Joe Biden is set to welcome Iraq’s Prime Minister Mohammed Shia’a Al-Sudani to the White House on April 15, the family of graduate student Elizabeth Tsurkov has called on the Biden administration to designate Iraq as a state sponsor of terror for allegedly failing to work for her release from captivity. Tsurkov was kidnapped in Iraq in March 2023 by Iran-backed Shiite militia Kataib Hezbollah.
