Sunday, April 9 saw a minor shake-up in Undergraduate Student Government (USG), as the long-planned shift to establish a mental health core committee led to Class of 2024 Senator Noah Luch ’24 resigning from his role as a senator to lead the committee. Sustainability Committee Chair Sean Bradley ’24 also resigned on Sunday, leaving two vacancies in the Senate.

Campus lighting governance is “complicated,” said Director of Campus Safety and Health Kelly States, given the high number of departments and units involved. States spoke on the University’s working group for improving campus lighting at the March 7 Undergraduate Student Government (USG) meeting, though offered few specifics on progress that has been made by the University.

Stephen Daniels ’24 was elected president by a nearly 40 point margin in this year’s Undergraduate Student Government (USG) winter elections. The Senate-initiated referendum on gender-neutral bathrooms in dorms passed with 58 percent of the votes, with 27 percent voting no and 15 percent voting to abstain.

A new 24/7 support line from Counseling and Psychological Services (CPS) went live on Monday, Nov. 21. Students can call 609-258-3141 to speak with a counselor any day of the year, including evenings, weekends, and holidays and regardless of whether they are currently on campus, according to the CPS website.
