Town animal control officer arrested

Princeton Animal Control Officer Saul Nathan Barson was arrested and has been suspended without pay pending a further investigation, according to a press release sent to the Prince from the Princeton Office of the Administrator Marc Dashield.

Barson was arrested by the Solebury Township Police Department in Pennsylvania after receiving information “in regards of a sexual assault that occurred on February 3, 2017,” according to the press release.

The sexual assaulted occurred at Pat Livezey Park in Solebury Township and involved a 13-year-old child. The charges include “involuntary sexual intercourse, statutory sexual assault, sexual assault, indecent assault, corruption of minors and criminal use of a communication facility,” according to the press release.

Barson’s arrest occurred Feb. 20. His bail, set by District Court Judge Gallagher, was 10 percent of $300,000.
