Fondling incident reported outside Friend Center

A fondling incident was reported at about 8:27 p.m. on Thursday outside Friend Center, according to an email announcement by the Department of Public Safety.

According to the email, a female student reported being grabbed by her buttocks by an unidentified man while walking on Charlton Street. The suspect fled toward Nassau Street after the incident.

The suspect was described by the female student as a Hispanic man with black hair wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans, the email said. The suspect was estimated to be about 5 feet 5 inches tall and between 25 to 30 years old.

The student was not injured.

The DPS searched the area but could not locate the suspect.

“The safety of our students and members of the University community is a top priority, so we take any such report very seriously,” University spokesperson Martin Mbugua said.

He added that the DPS is working closely with the Princeton Police Department to investigate the incident. They have also enhanced patrols in the area.
