News & Notes: New case of bedbugs reported in Forbes

Another case of bedbugs was reported in a room in the Main Inn of Forbes College, said Housing and Real Estate Services Manager for Dormitories Kenneth Paulaski on Monday in an email sent to students of Forbes College.

Paulaski said that a University contractor escorted by a University representative will treat the room on Wednesday. Preparation for the treatment will start at 8 a.m., and the actual treatment will start at around 9 a.m. The treatment will be completed by 5 p.m.

Paulaski added that the treatment is expected to make a minimal amount of noise.

Two cases of bedbugs were reported in Forbes since the beginning of the current academic year, one on Sept. 26 and one on Oct. 5.

University spokesperson Martin Mbugua said on Oct. 5 that the University is planning to monitor rooms near those where bedbugs were reported for precautionary purpose.
